The Shonai Collective: Epiphany

Through the end of 2023, I worked with The Shonai Collective (Kolkata, India) as they prepared to release their album, Epiphany. It’s published by Off - Record label, where it can be purchased.

We collaborated remotely over the internet. The cover art was selected from a larger set of digital pieces I made while listening to early recordings of the new material.

This continues my interest in reactive digital drawings: images that respond in real time to a performance, while also building up into something that can stand on its own afterwards.

I’m drawn to the intensity of a group in full flow—especially when the music is semi-improvised and the performers are listening hard to each other. That connection was the starting point for the visual work.
